В восьмой версии появились новые функции, а также инструменты и сэмплы. Новыми в 8 версии являются функции Chords и Phrases, которые позволяют пользователям генерировать мелодии и последовательности, используя как MIDI-контент, так и инструменты рандомизации. Обе функции совместимы как с самим Kontakt, так и с любым инструментом, созданным на движке Kontakt.
Еще одно значительное дополнение — Leap, позволяющее быстро работать с петлями и сэмплами и знакомое всем, кто пользовался Arcade от Output. К Leap прилагаются 12 расширений, ориентированных на конкретные жанры, среди которых Afrobeats, Latin Trap и Soul Gold. Conflux — новый инструмент, сочетающий в себе сэмплерный движок, волновой и FM-синтез, позволяющий манипулировать и модулировать в режиме реального времени.
Если говорить об эстетике, появился совершенно новый браузер, позволяющий просматривать все инструменты, установленные на компьютере и совместимые с Kontakt. Можно искать по типу и характеру звука или по бренду инструмента.

● Создать пустую папку. Имя самой папки и путь к ней НЕ ДОЛЖНЫ СОДЕРЖАТЬ КИРИЛЛИЦУ. Папка ДОЛЖНА БЫТЬ ДОСТУПНА ДЛЯ ЗАПИСИ. Не размещать папку на системном диске.
● Запустить инсталлятор (KontaktPortable_v8**.exe) > "Browse...", выбрать созданную папку > "Extract"
● При первом запуске Менеджера библиотек будет произведено автоматическое сканирование заводского контента, а также уже установленных библиотек (сканирование в реестре).
По окончании сканирования необходимо сохранить изменения и (пере)запустить Контакт.
Если при первом запуске изменения не были сохранены, то автоматическое сканирование можно запустить в любое время сочетанием клавиш Alt Insert или из контекстного меню Менеджера:
ДОБАВИТЬ > быстрый поиск установленных библиотек
По умолчанию библиотеки добавляются только в классический браузер (за исключением заводского контента). Такое поведение можно изменить в настройках Менеджера библиотек:
Библиотеки > Управлять библиотеками в NKS-браузере
Как добавить Kontakt 8 PORTABLE VST3 в DAW.
Способ 1 (подходит не для всех DAW):
Добавить папку Kontakt8Portable\Kontakt 8\x64\VST3\ как дополнительную папку сканирования плагинов. За подробностями обратитесь к руководству (мануалу) вашей DAW.
Способ 2.
Запустить Kontakt8Portable\Install.exe
На странице выбора компонентов поставить галочку "Добавить VST3 плагин в DAW".

1. Запустить инсталлятор KontaktPortable_v8**.exe
2. Нажать "Browse..." и выбрать папку в которой находятся файлы Kontakt 8.x.x PORTABLE > "Extract"
3. При появлении окна "Confirm file replace" подтвердить замену файлов (Нажать "Yes to All")
